The Moon (Al-Qamar)
55 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Comet (Al-Taareq) before S (Saad)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
The Hour is drawing near, and the moon is split (in two). 1 And when they see a sign, they turn away and say, “Just a customary magic!” 2 And they denied and followed their own desires, whereas each matter has been decided! 3 And there has already come to them of information that in which there is deterrence - 4 Extensive wisdom - but warning does not avail [them]. 5 Wherefore withdrew thou from them. The Day whereon the summoner will summon mankind unto a thing unpleasant. 6 They will come out of the graves with downcast eyes like an expanding swarm of locusts. 7 running in confusion towards the Summoning Voice; [and] those who [now] deny the truth will exclaim, "Calamitous is this Day!" 8 ۞ Before them the People of Noah rejected (their messenger): they rejected Our servant, and said, "Here is one possessed!", and he was driven out. 9 So he cried unto his Lord, saying: I am vanquished, so give help. 10 We opened the gates of the sky and water started to pour down. 11 and caused the earth to gush with springs, so that the waters met for a predestined matter. 12 And We bare him on a thing of planks and nails. 13 floated on under Our eyes: a vindication of him who had been rejected. 14 And We left it for a sign. Is there any that will remember? 15 Then how (terrible) was My Torment and My Warnings? 16 And We have certainly made the Qur'an easy for remembrance, so is there any who will remember? 17 Ad treated (the truth) as a lie, so how (great) was My punishment and My warning! 18 Indeed, We sent upon them a screaming wind on a day of continuous misfortune, 19 plucking up men as if they were stumps of uprooted palm-trees. 20 So how did My punishment turn out, and My warnings? 21 We have made the Quran easy to understand, but is there anyone who would pay attention? 22

كيف تعمل منظومة تمارين الحفظ؟ عند أدنى مستوى 0، تكون كل الكلمات ظاهرة. بينما يُخفي أعلى مستوى 9 كل الكلمات. فكيف تعمل المستويات المتوسطة، مثل 3، على سبيل المثال؟ قد تعتقد بأن المنظومة تخفي 3 من كل تسع كلمات بدقة. ليس تماما! في المستوى 3، لكل كلمة فرصة اختفاء بنسبة 3 من 9، و6 من 9 لتكون ظاهرة. بمعنى آخر، من الممكن، ولكن باحتمال شبة معدوم، أن تكون جميع كلمات المستوى 3 مخفية، أو أن تكون جميعها ظاهرة! وكذلك أيضًا، ففي المستويات المتوسطة، وبما يتناسب مع مستوى الصعوبة، يمكن أن تكون المخابئ غير كاملة أو شفافة جزئيًا بحيث تظهر الكلمات جزئيًا تحتها.
How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
