The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the pluckers (the angels of death), violently plucking (the souls of the unbelievers), 1 And [by] those who remove with ease 2 By the angels who glide swimmingly, 3 Then outpace the others swiftly 4 And those who govern the event, 5 The day the convulsive (first blast) shatters convulsively 6 Followed by oft-repeated (commotions): 7 hearts will undergo terrible trembling, 8 Their looks will be downcast. 9 They say: "Shall we go back to our original state 10 Even after we are crumbled bones? 11 They said: That then would be a return occasioning loss. 12 But verily, it will be but a single (Compelling) Cry, 13 And they will wake up suddenly. 14 Has not there come to you the story of Musa? 15 When his Lord called to him in the holy valley, Towa: 16 [saying], "Go to Pharaoh, he has exceeded all bounds, 17 And say to him, 'Would you [be willing to] purify yourself 18 And that I guide you to your Lord, so you should fear Him? 19 Then [Musa (Moses)] showed him the great sign (miracles). 20 But he denied and disobeyed, 21 Then he turned away, deliberating, 22 then, he gathered, proclaimed, 23 and said, "I am your Lord All-Highest!" 24 But Allah did punish him, (and made an) example of him, - in the Hereafter, as in this life. 25 surely there is in this a lesson for the God-fearing. 26
