It is God who sends down water from the sky for you to drink and produces plants as pasture for your cattle. 10 With it He causes to grow for you the crops, the olives, the date-palms, the grapes, and every kind of fruit. Verily! In this is indeed an evident proof and a manifest sign for people who give thought. 11 And He has subjected for you the night and day and the sun and moon, and the stars are subjected by His command. Indeed in that are signs for a people who reason. 12 And the things on this earth which He has multiplied in varying colours (and qualities): verily in this is a sign for men who celebrate the praises of Allah (in gratitude). 13 And He it is Who has subjected the sea that you may eat fresh fish from it and bring forth ornaments from it that you can wear. And you see ships ploughing their course through it so that you may go forth seeking His Bounty and be grateful to Him. 14 And He has cast into the earth firmly set mountains, lest it shift with you, and [made] rivers and roads, that you may be guided, 15 And marks and sign-posts; and by the stars (men) guide themselves. 16 Is then He, Who creates as one who creates not? Will you not then remember? 17 And if you enumerate the favours of Allah, you will never be able to count them; indeed Allah is Oft Forgiving, Most Merciful. 18 and God knows all that you keep secret as well as all that you bring into the open. 19 , As for those they call besides God, they cannot create a thing, and have themselves been created. 20 Dead are they, not alive; and they perceive not when they will be raised up. 21
