Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ I CALL TO WITNESS the Day of Resurrection, 1 And I call the reprehensive soul to witness: 2 Does man think that We cannot [resurrect him and] bring his bones together again? 3 Yea indeed, We are able to make whole his very finger-tips! 4 Rather, the human desires to continue in his immorality, 5 He questions: "When is the Day of Resurrection?" 6 When the eye is bewildered, 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 when the sun and moon are gathered together 9 on that Day will man say: “Whither the refuge?” 10 No, there shall be no (place of) refuge. 11 To your Lord, that Day, is the [place of] permanence. 12 To man will be declared on that Day that which he hath sent on and left behind. 13 nay, but man shall against himself be an eye-witness, 14 even though they make excuses. 15 Move not thy tongue concerning the (Qur'an) to make haste therewith. 16 Surely its collection and recitation are Our responsibility. 17 Thus, when We recite it, follow thou its wording [with all thy mind]: 18 and then, it will be for Us to make its meaning clear. 19 Not [as you think, that you (mankind) will not be resurrected and recompensed for your deeds], but (you men) love the present life of this world, 20 and neglect the life to come. 21 [Some] faces, that Day, will be radiant, 22 gazing upon their Lord; 23 And some faces, that Day, will be Basirah (dark, gloomy, frowning, and sad), 24 In the thought that some back-breaking calamity was about to be inflicted on them; 25 No! When the soul has reached the collar bones 26 and it is said: “Is there any enchanter who can step forward and help (by his chanting)?” 27 (the angels of mercy or the angels of wrath,)" then, he will realize that it is time to leave this world. 28 and calf is inter-twined with calf. 29 That Day the Drive will be (all) to thy Lord! 30
