And a sign for them is the dead earth; We gave it life and We produced from it grain, so they eat from it. 33 and produced therein grains from which they eat and established therein gardens of palms trees and vineyards and have made streams flow therein 34 So that they may eat from its fruits, whereas they are not manufactured by their hands! So will they not be grateful? 35 Glory be to Him Who created pairs of all things, of what the earth grows, and of their kind and of what they do not know. 36 A token unto them is night. We strip it of the day, and lo! they are in darkness. 37 And the sun runs on to a term appointed for it; that is the ordinance of the Mighty, the Knowing. 38 And the moon -- We have determined it by stations, till it returns like an aged palm-bough. 39 Neither is it allowable to the sun that it should overtake the moon, nor can the night outstrip the day; and all float on in a sphere. 40 And a sign to them is that We bear their offspring in the laden ship. 41 And We created for them from the likes of it that which they ride. 42 And if We please, We can drown them, then there shall be no succorer for them, nor shall they be rescued 43 Unless it be a mercy from Us, and as an enjoyment for a while. 44 When it is said unto them: Beware of that which is before you and that which is behind you, that haply ye may find mercy (they are heedless). 45 And there comes not to them a communication of the communications of their Lord but they turn aside from it. 46 When they are told to spend for the cause of God out of what He has provided for them for their sustenance, the disbelievers say to the believers, "Should we feed those whom God has decided to feed? You are in plain error." 47 They also say: 'When will this promise be, if what you say is true' 48 They await but one Shout, which will surprise them while they are disputing. 49 Then they will not be able to make bequest, nor they will return to their family. 50
