The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ What are they asking each other about? 1 (Is it) of the great announcement 2 About which they differ? 3 Surely yes, they will soon come to know! 4 Again surely yes, they will soon come to know! 5 Have We not made the earth as a cradle 6 And the high hills bulwarks? 7 Have We not created you in pairs, 8 And made your sleep a rest. 9 and the night as a cover, 10 And have made the day for livelihood. 11 And We made above you seven strong ones, 12 and We appointed a blazing lamp 13 and have sent down out of the rainclouds water cascading 14 That We may bring forth thereby corn and herbs, 15 And gardens of thick growth. 16 VERILY, the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false] has indeed its appointed time: 17 The Day that the Trumpet shall be sounded, and ye shall come forth in crowds; 18 And the heaven will have been opened, and it will have become doors. 19 and the mountains will be set in motion and become a mirage. 20 Indeed hell is lying in ambush. 21 The destination of the rebellious. 22 for the rebellious ones and they will live therein for ages. 23 tasting therein neither coolness nor any drink 24 Save scalding water and corruption. 25 The reward to each is according to what he is. 26 They did not expect such a Judgment 27 And they belied Our revelations with strong belying. 28 And We have kept recorded everything in a Book, accounted for. 29 So taste (the fruit of what you sowed), for We shall add nothing but torment, 30
