The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I swear by the angels who violently pull out the souls of the wicked, 1 And [by] those who remove with ease 2 by the swimmers (angels) swimming gently 3 And those who race each other in a race 4 by those that direct an affair! 5 On the day when the first trump resoundeth. 6 Followed by oft-repeated (commotions): 7 hearts upon that day shall be athrob 8 [and] their eyes downcast... 9 The disbelievers say, “Will we really return to our former state?” 10 "What! - when we shall have become rotten bones?" 11 They say: "Then this returning will be a dead loss." 12 But all it will take is a single blast, 13 So they will immediately be in an open plain. 14 Did the news of Moosa reach you? 15 Behold, thy Lord did call to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa:- 16 Go to Firon, surely he has become inordinate. 17 And say (unto him): Hast thou (will) to grow (in grace)? 18 [If so,] then I shall guide thee towards [a cognition of] thy Sustainer, so that [henceforth] thou wilt stand in awe [of Him].'" 19 So he showed him the great sign, 20 But (Pharaoh) rejected it and disobeyed (guidance); 21 and then he turned back to have recourse to his craftiness, 22 Then he collected (his men) and made a proclamation, 23 Saying: "I am your lord, most high", 24 but God seized him and meted out to him the chastisement of both the next world and the present: 25 Lo! herein is indeed a lesson for him who feareth. 26
