The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Read: In the name of thy Lord Who createth, 1 He created man from a clot. 2 Recite: and your Lord is Most Generous, 3 The One Who taught to write with the pen. 4 taught man what he did not know. 5 Indeed, surely the human is very insolent 6 For he thinks he is sufficient in himself. 7 Surely to your Lord is your return. 8 What do you think? Have you seen he who forbids 9 a servant (of Allah) when he prays? 10 Have you thought, if he had been on guidance 11 or bade to godfearing -- 12 What is your opinion – if he denies and turns away, how wretched will be his state! 13 Knoweth he not that Allah doth see? 14 Yes certainly, if he does not desist, We will seize him by the forelock. 15 a lying, sinful forelock. 16 and then let him summon [to his aid] the counsels of his own [spurious] wisdom, 17 We shall call the guards of Hell. 18 No indeed! Do not obey him, but prostrate yourself and come closer to God. ۩ 19
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
