A 'araaf (Al-A 'araaf)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ Alif Lam Mim Sad. 1 (This is the) Book (the Quran) sent down unto you (O Muhammad SAW), so let not your breast be narrow therefrom, that you warn thereby, and a reminder unto the believers. 2 [O men!] Follow what has been revealed to you from your Lord and follow no masters other than Him. Little are you admonished. 3 How many cities have We destroyed! Our wrath struck their people at night or during their midday siesta. 4 And when Our punishment overtook them they had nothing to say except crying out: "We have indeed been sinners." 5 We will question those to whom Our Message was sent, as We shall question the Messengers. 6 Then We will surely relate [their deeds] to them with knowledge, and We were not [at all] absent. 7 On that Day, the weighing is true. He whose scales are heavy those are the prosperers, 8 And those whose scales are light - they are the ones who will lose themselves for what injustice they were doing toward Our verses. 9 And assuredly We established you in the earth and appointed for you livelihoods therein; yet little thanks ye return. 10
