And [mention] when We said to the angels, "Prostrate to Adam," and they prostrated, except Iblees; he refused. 116 Then We said: "O Adam! verily, this is an enemy to thee and thy wife: so let him not get you both out of the Garden, so that thou art landed in misery. 117 In Paradise you will experience no hunger, nakedness, 118 And that thou thirstest not therein nor art exposed to the sun's heat. 119 Satan, trying to seduce him, said, "Adam, do you want me to show you the Tree of Eternity and the Everlasting Kingdom?" 120 Then they both ate of it, so their evil inclinations became manifest to them, and they both began to cover themselves with leaves of the garden, and Adam disobeyed his Lord, so his life became evil (to him). 121 Then his Lord chose him, so He turned to him and guided (him). 122 He said, “Both of you go down from heaven, one of you is an enemy to the other; then if the guidance from Me comes to you – then whoever follows My guidance, will not go astray nor be ill-fated.” 123 "But whosoever turns away from My Reminder (i.e. neither believes in this Quran nor acts on its orders, etc.) verily, for him is a life of hardship, and We shall raise him up blind on the Day of Resurrection." 124 He will say, "My Lord, why have you brought me back to life blind; before I could see?" 125 God shall say, 'Even so it is. Our signs came unto thee, and thou didst forget them; and so today thou art forgotten.' 126 And this is how We reward him who transgresses and does not accept faith in the signs of his Lord; and indeed the punishment of the Hereafter is the most severe and more lasting. 127 Is it not a warning for them to see how many generations living before them We destroyed and how they are now walking in their ruins? In this there is the evidence (of the Truth) for the people of reason. 128
