And recite to them the news of Abraham, 69 When he said unto his father and his folk: What worship ye? 70 They replied: "We worship idols and are devoted to them." 71 'Do they hear you when you call on them' He asked. 72 'Can they benefit you or harm you' 73 They said: "No. But we found our fathers doing so." 74 He said: "Do you observe that which you have been worshipping, 75 you and your forefathers -- 76 They are an enemy to me, except the Lord of all Being 77 "Who has created me, and it is He Who guides me; 78 And it is He who feeds me and gives me drink. 79 He who cures me when I am ill; 80 He will cause me to die and will bring me back to life. 81 and who I am eager shall forgive me my offence on the Day of Doom. 82 My Lord! Bestow Hukman (religious knowledge, right judgement of the affairs and Prophethood) on me, and join me with the righteous; 83 And give unto me a good report in later generations. 84 And make me one of the inheritors of the Paradise of Delight; 85 and forgive my father; for he is one of the misguided; 86 And abase me not on the day when they are raised, 87 The Day whereon neither wealth nor sons will avail, 88 But to him who comes to God with a tranquil heart." 89 "To the righteous, the Garden will be brought near, 90 "And to those straying in Evil, the Fire will be placed in full view; 91 who will be asked, "What did you worship 92 Instead of Allah? Can they help you or help themselves? 93 They will then be thrown into Hell with those who had gone astray 94 and the army of satan will all be thrown headlong into hell. 95 And they will say while they dispute with one another, 96 'By God, we were certainly in manifest error 97 When We held you (false gods) as equals (in worship) with the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists); 98 And none led us astray except the culprits. 99 and now we have none to intercede on our behalf, 100 Nor any sincere friend. 101 But if we could but once return, we would be of the believers. 102 Surely there is a Sign in this, but most of them would not believe. 103 And verily thy Lord! He is the Mighty, the Merciful. 104
