Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Ha Mim. 1 By the Book that makes things clear, 2 Surely We have made it an Arabic Quran that you may understand. 3 and behold, it is in the Essence of the Book, with Us; sublime indeed, wise. 4 What! shall We then turn away the reminder from you altogether because you are an extravagant people? 5 And how many Prophets We did send among the earlier people! 6 And never came there a Prophet to them but they used to mock at him. 7 And We destroyed greater than them in [striking] power, and the example of the former peoples has preceded. 8 If you ask them: "Who created the heavens and the earth?" they will answer: "The Mighty and All-knowing created them," 9 He it is Who made this earth for you a cradle and made in it pathways for you that you may find the way to your destination; 10 Who sent down water in due measure from the sky, then quickened a region that was dead -- So shall We bring you forth -- 11 and who created the pairs, all of them, and appointed for you ships and cattle such as you ride, 12 that you may be seated on their backs and then remember your Lord's blessing when you are seated on them, and say, 'Glory be to Him, who has subjected this to us, and we ourselves were not equal to it; 13 “And indeed we have to return to our Lord.” 14 Yet they attribute to some of His servants a share with Him (in his godhead)! truly is man a blasphemous ingrate avowed! 15
