and We delivered the Children of Israel from the humbling chastisement, 30 From Fir'awn; verily he was haughty and of the extravagant. 31 And We certainly chose them by knowledge over [all] the worlds. 32 and gave them signs wherein there was a manifest trial. 33 [Now,] behold, these [people] say indeed: 34 There is naught but our first death, and we shall not be raised again. 35 Then bring [back] our forefathers, if you should be truthful." 36 Are they better or the people of Tubba' and those before them? We destroyed them, [for] indeed, they were criminals. 37 And We created not the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, for mere play, 38 We created them in nothing else except the truth. But most do not know. 39 The Day of Final Decision is the appointed time for all; 40 The Day when no protector can avail his client in aught, and no help can they receive, 41 save him upon whom God has mercy; He is the All-mighty, the All-compassionate. 42
