Al-Infitaar
Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven becomes cleft asunder, 1 and when the stars are scattered, 2 And when the oceans are swept away. 3 and the graves are turned inside out, 4 (Then) shall each soul know what it hath sent forward and (what it hath) kept back. 5 O man! What has deceived you away from your Lord, the Most Beneficent? 6 Who created you then formed your symmetry, then gave you right proportion, 7 Into whatsoever form He will, He casteth thee. 8 No! But you deny the Recompense. 9 Surely there are guardians over you, 10 watching over you 11 who know of all that you do. 12 Surely the pious shall be in bliss, 13 And the Wicked - they will be in the Fire, 14 Roasted they shall be therein on the Day of Requital. 15 and from it they shall never be absent. 16 And what shall make thee know whatsoever the Day of Requital is? 17 Then, what can make you know what is the Day of Recompense? 18 (It will be) the Day when no person shall have power (to do) anything for another, and the Decision, that Day, will be (wholly) with Allah. 19
