And truly, this (the Quran) is a revelation from the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists), 192 the Faithful Spirit has brought it down 193 Upon thy heart, that thou mayest be of the warners, 194 in a clear, Arabic tongue. 195 And verily it is in the Scriptures of the ancients. 196 Is it not a sign to them that the learned scholars (like 'Abdullah bin Salam who embraced Islam) of the Children of Israel knew it (as true)? 197 Had We revealed it to a non-Arab 198 they would still not have believed in it. 199 Thus have We caused this (Admonition) to penetrate the hearts of the culprits (like a hot rod). 200 they will not believe in it until they see the grievous punishment. 201 So that it will come upon them suddenly, when they perceive not. 202 they say: "Can we be granted some respite?" 203 Do they wish Us then to hasten the punishment? 204 What do you see? If We gave them enjoyment for years, 205 and then the chastisement of which they were being warned were to come upon them, 206 what avail will their past enjoyments be to them? 207 Never did We destroy a population, but had its warners - 208 We have never been unjust to anyone. 209 And it is not the Shayatin (devils) who have brought it (this Quran) down, 210 It behoveth them not, nor they can. 211 The satans are barred from listening to anything from the heavens. 212 So do not invoke with Allah another deity and [thus] be among the punished. 213 And admonish thy nearest kinsmen, 214 and be kind to your believing followers. 215 then, if they disobey thee, say, 'I am quit of that you do.' 216 Put your trust in the Mighty One, the Merciful, 217 Who sees you (O Muhammad SAW) when you stand up (alone at night for Tahajjud prayers). 218 or move during your prostration with the worshippers. 219 Surely He is the All-hearing, the All-knowing. 220 Shall I inform you upon whom do the devils descend? 221 They descend on every forgerer steeped in sin, 222 who lends an ear to them, and most of them are liars. 223 And as to the poets, those who go astray follow them. 224 Do you not see how they wander aimlessly in every valley, 225 And they speak what they do not do? 226 [Most of them are of this kind] save those who have attained to faith, and do righteous deeds, and remember God unceasingly, and defend themselves [only] after having been wronged, and [trust in God's promise that] those who are bent on wrongdoing will in time come to know how evil a turn their destinies are bound to take! 227
Almighty God's Truth.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
