As for one who turns away from the remembrance of the Gracious God, We appoint for him a devil, who will become his intimate companion. 36 And most surely they turn them away from the path, and they think that they are guided aright: 37 Till, when he cometh unto Us, he saith (unto his comrade): Ah, would that between me and thee there were the distance of the two horizons - an evil comrade! 38 And it will profit you not today, because ye have done wrong, that ye are in the torment sharers. 39 Can you (O Muhammad SAW) make the deaf to hear, or can you guide the blind or him who is in manifest error? 40 And if We take thee away, We surely shall take vengeance on them, 41 or We show you a part of that which We have promised them, for indeed We have power over them. 42 So hold fast to all that has been revealed to thee: for, behold, thou art on a straight way; 43 And lo! it is in truth a Reminder for thee and for thy folk; and ye will be questioned. 44 And ask (O Muhammad SAW) those of Our Messengers whom We sent before you: "Did We ever appoint aliha (gods) to be worshipped besides the Most Beneficent (Allah)?" 45
