The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By heaven of the constellations, 1 And [by] the promised Day 2 and by the witness and what is witnessed: 3 the people of the pit were destroyed 4 Full of fire fed by faggots, 5 They sat by it 6 And they, to what they were doing against the believers, were witnesses. 7 And they persecuted them for naught save that they believed in Allah, the Mighty, the Praiseworthy 8 God to whom belongs the Kingdom of the heavens and the earth, and God is Witness over everything. 9 Indeed, those who have tortured the believing men and believing women and then have not repented will have the punishment of Hell, and they will have the punishment of the Burning Fire. 10 Lo! those who believe and do good works, theirs will be Gardens underneath which rivers flow. That is the Great Success. 11 The grip of your Lord is severe indeed! 12 Surely it is He who originates, and brings again, 13 And He is the Fogiving, the Loving, 14 The Lord of the glorious Throne, 15 and the Most Effective in His decision. 16 Have you not heard the story of the hosts 17 Of Fir'aun (Pharaoh) and Thamud? 18 But they who disbelieve are in [persistent] denial, 19 and God is behind them, encompassing. 20 Nay, but this [divine writ which they reject] is a discourse sublime, 21 (Preserved) on the guarded tablet. 22
