In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Read: In the name of thy Lord Who createth, 1 He created man from a clot of blood. 2 Proclaim! And thy Lord is Most Bountiful,- 3 Who taught by the pen, 4 Has taught man that which he knew not. 5 Nay, surely man transgresses; 6 for he thinks himself self-sufficient. 7 Surely unto thy Lord is the Returning. 8 Bethinkest thou him who forbiddeth, 9 A slave when he prayeth? 10 Tell me, if he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) is on the guidance (of Allah)? 11 or if he commands others to maintain piety!? 12 Bethinkest thou, if he belieth and turneth away? 13 Knows he not that Allah does see (what he does)? 14 No indeed; if he does not desist, We shall drag him by the forelock; 15 a lying, sinful forelock. 16 Then, let him call his assembly, 17 We too would summon the braves of the army. 18 (Muhammad), never yield to him! Prostrate yourself and try to come closer to God. ۩ 19
