The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Woe to every scorner and mocker 1 Who amasses wealth and considers it a provision (against mishap); 2 thinking that his wealth will make him live forever! 3 Nay! he shall most certainly be hurled into the crushing disaster, 4 Ah, what will convey unto thee what the Consuming One is! 5 (It is) the fire of Allah, kindled, 6 Which rises above the hearts. 7 Verily, it shall be closed in on them, 8 In extended columns. 9

God Almighty has spoken the truth.
