And the dwellers in Al-Hijr denied (Our) messengers. 80 And We gave them Our signs, but from them they were turning away. 81 They carved out dwellings in the mountains, and lived in security -- 82 An explosion struck them in the morning. 83 Therefore their earnings did not in the least benefit them. 84 We did not create the heavens and the earth, and what is between them except in truth. The Hour is sure to come, therefore, forgive them with a gracious pardon. 85 Indeed, your Lord - He is the Knowing Creator. 86 And We have certainly given you, [O Muhammad], seven of the often repeated [verses] and the great Qur'an. 87 Strain not thine eyes. (Wistfully) at what We have bestowed on certain classes of them, nor grieve over them: but lower thy wing (in gentleness) to the believers. 88 And say thou: verily I! I am a plain warner. 89 Just as We had revealed [scriptures] to the separators 90 Those who broke the Word of Allah into several parts. (Those who broke the Torah / Bible or changed its text – or those who called the Qur’an a fabrication / poetry.) 91 So by your Lord, We will surely question them all 92 For all their deeds. 93 So proclaim that which thou art commanded, and withdraw from the idolaters. 94 Truly! We will suffice you against the scoffers. 95 and those who set up other gods with Allah, indeed, they will soon know. 96 We certainly know that you feel sad about what they say against you. 97 When (you feel so) glorify your Lord with His praise and prostrate yourself before Him, 98 and worship thy Sustainer till death comes to thee. 99
