And the chiefs of his people, who disbelieved and denied the Meeting in the Hereafter, and to whom We had given the luxuries and comforts of this life, said: "He is no more than a human being like you, he eats of that which you eat, and drinks of what you drink. 33 And were ye to obey a human being like you, ye are forthwith to be losers. 34 What, does he promise you that when you are dead and turned to dust and bones, you will be brought forth? 35 ۞ "Far, very far is that which ye are promised! 36 Life is not but our worldly life - we die and live, but we will not be resurrected. 37 He is only a man who invents lies against God, so have no faith in him". 38 The Messenger prayed, "Lord, help me; they have called me a liar". 39 Allah said: after a little while they will become regretful. 40 So the (Awful) Cry overtook them rightfully, and We made them like as wreckage (that a torrent hurleth). A far removal for wrongdoing folk! 41 Then We raised after them other generations. 42 No nation will precede its time [of termination], nor will they remain [thereafter]. 43 Then We sent Our Messengers in succession, every time there came to a nation their Messenger, they denied him, so We made them follow one another (to destruction), and We made them as Ahadith (the true stories for mankind to learn a lesson from them). So away with a people who believe not. 44 Then We sent Moses and his brother Aaron with Our signs and clear authority 45 unto Pharaoh and his Council; but they waxed proud, and they were a lofty people, 46 They said: "Shall we put faith in two mortals like ourselves when their people are slaves to us?" 47 So they cried them lies, and they were among the destroyed. 48 And certainly We gave Musa the Book that they may follow a right direction. 49 And We made the son of Mary and his mother a portent, and We gave them refuge on a height, a place of flocks and watersprings. 50
