Elucidated (Fussilat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
Ha-Mim. [These letters are one of the miracles of the Quran, and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings.] 1 A revelation from [God], the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful -- 2 A Book whereof the verses are detailed; an Arabic Qur'an, for a people who know. 3 A herald of good news and a warner, but most of them turn aside so they hear not. 4 They say: “Our hearts are securely wrapped up against what you call us to, and in our ears is a heaviness, and between you and us there is a veil. So act; we too are acting.” 5 (Muhammad), say, "I am a mere mortal like you. I have received a revelation that your Lord is the only One. So be up-right and obedient to Him and seek forgiveness from Him. Woe to the pagans, 6 who pay not the alms, and disbelieve in the world to come. 7 But those who believe and do the right, will have a continuing reward. 8
