The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
The Hour of Doom is drawing near and the moon is rent asunder. 1 And when they see a sign, they turn away and say, “Just a customary magic!” 2 They reject (the warning) and follow their (own) lusts but every matter has its appointed time. 3 Messages deterring them from evil had come to them, 4 The pinnacle of wisdom – so how will the Heralds of warning provide any benefit? 5 So (O Muhammad SAW) withdraw from them. The Day that the caller will call (them) to a terrible thing. 6 their eyes will be humbled as they come out from their graves as if they were scattered locusts, 7 Hastening, with eyes transfixed, towards the Caller!- "Hard is this Day!", the Unbelievers will say. 8 ۞ The people of Noah denied [the truth] before them. They belied Our messenger saying, "He is mad!" He was rebuffed, 9 So he invoked his Lord, "Indeed, I am overpowered, so help." 10 We opened the Gates of Heaven with torrential water 11 And caused springs to gush out from the earth, so that the two waters met totalling a quantity that had been destined. 12 And We bore him on that which was made of planks and nails 13 That ran (upon the waters) in Our sight, as a reward for him who was rejected. 14 And indeed, We have caused such [floating vessels] to remain forever a sign [of Our grace unto man]: who, then, is willing to take it to heart? 15 But how (terrible) was My Penalty and My Warning? 16 Now We have made the Koran easy for Remembrance. Is there any that will remember? 17 (The tribe of) A'ad rejected warnings. Then how (dreadful) was My punishment after My warnings. 18 For We sent against them a furious wind, on a Day of violent Disaster, 19 It swept people away as if they were trunks of uprooted palm trees. 20 Then see how (dreadful) was My punishment after My warnings! 21 And certainly We have made the Quran easy for remembrance, but is there anyone who will mind? 22
