The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
O you (Muhammad SAW) enveloped (in garments)! 1 Arise and warn! 2 Thy Lord magnify 3 Thy raiment purify, 4 And keep away from Ar-Rujz (the idols)! 5 And do not through giving seek thyself to gain, 6 but unto thy Sustainer turn in patience. 7 When the Horn is blown, 8 Surely that day will be a day of anguish, 9 Far from easy for the disbelievers. 10 Leave Me with him whom I alone have created, 11 And to whom I granted extensive wealth 12 and sons that stand in witness. 13 and for whom I have smoothed the way (to power and riches), 14 yet he is eager that I increase him. 15 By no means; he is stubbornly opposed to Our Signs. 16 I shall soon constrain him to a hard ascent. 17 Verily, he thought and plotted; 18 death seized him, how was his determining! 19 And once more let him be cursed, how he plotted! 20 May he be condemned again for his schemes! He looked around, 21 Then frowned he and scowled. 22 Then he turned back and was haughty; 23 And said: This is naught else than magic from of old; 24 This is not but the word of a human being." 25 I will cast him into hell. 26 And what will make you know exactly what Hell-fire is? 27 It lets nothing remain and leaves nothing [unburned], 28 scorching the flesh; 29 Over it are nineteen [angels]. 30 And We have not made the wardens of the fire others than angels, and We have not made their number but as a trial for those who disbelieve, that those who have been given the book may be certain and those who believe may increase in faith, and those who have been given the book and the believers may not doubt, and that those in whose hearts is a disease and the unbelievers may say: What does Allah mean by this parable? Thus does Allah make err whom He pleases, and He guides whom He pleases, and none knows the hosts of your Lord but He Himself; and this is naught but a reminder to the mortals. 31
