The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
46 verses, revealed in Mecca after The News (Al-Naba') before Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the angels who violently tear-out the souls of the disbelievers from their bodies, 1 and move [in their orbits] with steady motion, 2 And by those who float in space, 3 Then outpace the others swiftly 4 And direct affairs by command, 5 On the Day the blast [of the Horn] will convulse [creation], 6 And the following event will come after it. 7 (Some) hearts that Day will shake with fear and anxiety. 8 and their eyes will be humbled. 9 They say: “Shall we indeed be restored to life, 10 “When we have become decayed bones?” 11 and they say, "That indeed would be a losing return." 12 However, it will only take a single blast 13 And lo! they will be awakened. 14 Have you received the story of Moses? 15 Behold, thy Lord did call to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa:- 16 Go to Firon, surely he has become inordinate. 17 And say (unto him): Hast thou (will) to grow (in grace)? 18 [If so,] then I shall guide thee towards [a cognition of] thy Sustainer, so that [henceforth] thou wilt stand in awe [of Him].'" 19 And he showed him the tremendous token. 20 But he rejected (the truth) and disobeyed. 21 then he turned away hastily, 22 So he gathered the people, and proclaimed. 23 and proclaimed, and he said, 'I am your Lord, the Most High!' 24 But Allah did punish him, (and made an) example of him, - in the Hereafter, as in this life. 25 Verily, in this is an instructive admonition for whosoever fears Allah. 26
