So when the apostles came to Lut's followers, 61 he said: "Surely you are an unknown folk." 62 They said, "But we have come to you with that about which they were disputing, 63 We truly tell you that we have brought to you the Truth. 64 so leave with your family some time in the latter part of the night, and walk behind them. Let none of you look back. Go where you are commanded." 65 We issued this command to him, for they were going to be destroyed in the morning. 66 And the people of the city came [unto Lot,] rejoicing at the glad tiding. 67 [Lout (Lot)] said: "Verily! these are my guests, so shame me not. 68 Fear Allah and do not disgrace me' 69 "Did we not restrain you," they said, "from (entertaining) creatures from the outside world?" 70 He said: 'Here are my daughters; take them (in marriage), if you would be doing' 71 By your life, (O Prophet), they went about blindly stumbling in their intoxication. 72 So As-Saihah (torment - awful cry, etc.) overtook them at the time of sunrise; 73 We laid it (the city) upside down and rained stones of baked clay upon them. 74 Behold! in this are Signs for those who by tokens do understand. 75 And verily! They (the cities) were right on the highroad (from Makkah to Syria i.e. the place where the Dead Sea is now). 76 surely in this there is a sign for those who believe. 77 Since the People of the Forest were unjust, 78 We afflicted them with punishment. Both people had clear (divine) authority among them. 79

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
