The Statute Book (Al-Furqaan)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ Blest be He who hath revealed the Criterion unto His bondman that he may be unto the worlds a warner. 1 to whom the Kingdom of the heavens and the earth belongs, who has not taken a son, nor does He have an associate in the Kingdom, and He created everything, then He ordained it very precisely. 2 And people have appointed other Gods besides Him, those who do not create anything but are themselves created, and those who do not have the power to harm or benefit themselves, and who do not have any authority over death or life nor over resurrection. 3 The unbelievers say, 'This is naught but a calumny he has forged, and other folk have helped him to it.' So they have committed wrong and falsehood. 4 They say, 'Fairy-tales of the ancients that he has had written down, so that they are recited to him at the dawn and in the evening.' 5 Say: "He who knows the secrets of the heavens and the earth has revealed it to me; and He is surely forgiving and kind." 6 And they say, "What is this messenger that eats food and walks in the markets? Why was there not sent down to him an angel so he would be with him a warner? 7 Or a treasure should have been sent down to him, or he should have had a garden from which to eat." The wrongdoers say, "You are surely following a man who is bewitched." 8 See how they strike examples for you, surely they have gone astray and are unable to find a way. 9
