Hizb 46
< random >
AND, BEHOLD, Jonah was indeed one of Our message-bearers 139 Call to mind when he fled to the laden ship, 140 and cast lots, and he was among the losers (of the lots that were cast). 141 Then he was swallowed by a large fish as he was worthy of blame. 142 Had he not been one of those who struggled hard, 143 he would certainly have remained in its belly till the Day of Resurrection. 144 ۞ Then We cast him on a desert shore while he was sick; 145 We made a plant of gourd grow up for him. 146 We sent him as a messenger to a hundred thousand people or more, 147 And they believed, whrefore We let them enjoy life for a season. 148 Then ask them whether your Lord has daughters and they have sons. 149 Or did We make the angels females, and they witnessed it? 150 It is only because of their false invention that they say, 151 Allah hath begotten. Allah! verily they tell a lie. 152 Has He chosen daughters above sons? 153 What aileth you? How judge ye? 154 Will you not, then, bethink yourselves? 155 Or have you a clear authority? 156 Bring your Book, if you speak truly! 157 They have set up a kinship between Him and the jinn; and the jinn know that they shall be arraigned. 158 Glorified is Allah! (He is Free) from what they attribute unto Him! 159 except the servants of God, sincere and devoted. 160 So indeed, you [disbelievers] and whatever you worship, 161 shall not be able to tempt anyone away from Allah 162 except for he who shall roast in Hell. 163 And the angels say, “Each one of us has an appointed known position.” 164 and, verily, we too are ranged [before Him in worship]; 165 And indeed, we are those who exalt Allah." 166 They used to say before: 167 "Had we received guidance from the people living before us, 168 We would certainly have been the servants of Allah-- the purified ones. 169 But (now) they disbelieve in it, so they will come to know. 170 And assuredly Our word hath already gone forth Our bondmen, the sent ones: 171 That they verily would be made triumphant. 172 and that, verily, Our hosts - they indeed - would [in the end] be victorious! 173 So turn away from them for a while. 174 And see [what will befall] them, for they are going to see. 175 What, do they seek to hasten Our punishment? 176 When that chastisement will descend upon their courtyard, evil shall that Day be for those who had been warned. 177 So turn (O Muhammad SAW) away from them for a while, 178 and see; soon they shall see! 179 Glory be to thy Lord, the Lord of Glory, above that they describe! 180 And peace upon the messengers. 181 And all praise to God, the Lord of all the worlds. 182
True are the words of God the Almighty.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
