The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ When the sky is rent asunder, 1 And it listens to the command of its Lord – and that befits it. 2 And when the earth shall be stretched forth. 3 And has cast out that within it and relinquished [it] 4 And hearkens to its Lord and is dutiful, 5 O man! surely you must strive (to attain) to your Lord, a hard striving until you meet Him. 6 Then whoso is given his account in his right hand 7 He will be judged with an easy account 8 And will return to his family in joy! 9 But as for him whose record shall be given to him behind his back; 10 He shall call for perdition, 11 And will go into the blazing fire. 12 He used to be happy with his own people; 13 Verily, he thought that he would never come back (to Us)! 14 This is a fact. Their Lord is Well-Aware of (all that they do). 15 I swear by the glow of sunset, 16 And by oath of the night and all that gathers in it. 17 And by the moon when it is at the full, 18 You will surely go up level by level. 19 So, what is the matter with them that they do not believe, 20 and when the Qur'an is recited to them, they do not prostrate themselves? ۩ 21 But those who have disbelieved deny, 22 And Allah is most knowing of what they keep within themselves. 23 So announce to them a painful torment. 24 Except those who believe and do the right: For them there is reward unending. 25
