And recite to them the news of Abraham. 69 When he said unto his father and his folk: What worship ye? 70 They said, 'We serve idols, and continue cleaving to them. 71 He said: Do they hear you when you call? 72 or do they cause you any benefit or harm?" 73 They replied, "But we found our fathers doing the same." 74 He said: "Have you considered what you have been worshipping, 75 You and your ancient forefathers? 76 Surely they are enemies to me, but not (so) the Lord of the worlds; 77 who created me, and Himself guides me, 78 Who gives me food and drink, 79 And when I sicken, then He healeth me, 80 and who will cause me to die and then will bring me back to life 81 And He Who, I long, shall forgive me my faults, on the Day of Requital. 82 My Lord, give me judgment, and join me with the righteous. 83 "Grant me honourable mention on the tongue of truth among the latest (generations); 84 And make me one of the inheritors of the Garden of Delight. 85 And forgive my father. Indeed, he has been of those astray. 86 “And do not disgrace me on the day when everyone will be raised.” 87 the Day on which neither wealth will be of any use, nor children, 88 But only one who comes to Allah with a sound heart." 89 and Paradise shall be brought forward to the cautious. 90 And Hell is brought near to the perverse' 91 And it will be said to them, "Where are those you used to worship 92 "'Besides Allah? Can they help you or help themselves?' 93 And they will be pitched into it, they and the perverse 94 And the whole hosts of Iblis (Satan) together. 95 They shall say, as they dispute there one with another, 96 By Allah, we have indeed been in an error manifest. 97 when we deemed you [false deities] equal to the Sustainer of all the worlds 98 “And none misled us but the guilty.” 99 Now we have no intercessors 100 Nor any sincere friend. 101 (Alas!) If we only had a chance to return (to the world), we shall truly be among the believers! 102 Lo! herein is indeed a portent, yet most of them are not believers! 103 But, verily, thy Sustainer - He alone - is almighty, a dispenser of grace! 104
