He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned away 1 that the blind man came to him. 2 for how can you know that he might seek to purify himself, 3 or he might be mindful and good counsel might avail him. 4 As for him who thinks himself self-sufficient, 5 To him dost thou attend; 6 Though it is no blame to thee if he grow not (in spiritual understanding). 7 But he who comes to you running, 8 And he feareth 9 of him you were unmindful. 10 Nay, but verily it is an Admonishment, 11 So whosoever willeth - let him be admonished therewlth. 12 (It is) in Records held (greatly) in honour (Al-Lauh Al-Mahfuz). 13 exalted, purified, 14 borne by the hands of scribes, 15 Noble, virtuous. 16 Cursed is man; how disbelieving is he. 17 From what thing did He create him? 18 Of a small seed; He created him, then He made him according to a measure, 19 and then made the course of life easy for him, 20 Then He causeth him to die, and putteth him in his grave; 21 Then, when He willed, He brought him out. (As during the night of Holy Prophet’s ascension, when all the Prophets gathered behind him in the Al Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem. Or when Allah will raise everyone on the Day of Resurrection.) 22 Nay, but man did not fulfil what Allah had enjoined upon him. 23 Let Man consider his nourishment. 24 That We watered it in abundance. 25 And We split the earth in fragments, 26 And We made corn grow, 27 and grape vines and vegetables, 28 and olives, and palms, 29 and dense-tree'd gardens, 30 And fruit and grass - 31 For use and convenience to you and your cattle. 32 Then when cometh the Deafening Cry 33 The day on which a man shall fly from his brother, 34 And from his mother and his father, 35 wife and sons, 36 Everyman, that Day, will have enough to make him careless of others. 37 Many a face will be glittering on that day. 38 laughing, rejoicing at glad tidings. 39 And many will be dust-begrimed, 40 Darkness will cover them, 41 It is they, the disbelievers, the sinners. 42
Almighty God's Truth.
