AND, INDEED, We sent forth Noah unto his people and he said: "O my people! Worship God alone: you have no deity other than Him. Will you not, then, become conscious of Him?" 23 But the chieftains of his folk, who disbelieved, said: This is only a mortal like you who would make himself superior to you. Had Allah willed, He surely could have sent down angels. We heard not of this in the case of our fathers of old. 24 He is nothing but a madman: so bear with him for a while." 25 Noah said: "My Lord! Come to my help at their accusation that I am lying." 26 So We inspired to him, "Construct the ship under Our observation, and Our inspiration, and when Our command comes and the oven overflows, put into the ship from each [creature] two mates and your family, except those for whom the decree [of destruction] has proceeded. And do not address Me concerning those who have wronged; indeed, they are to be drowned. 27 And when you and all those with you are seated in the Ark, say: 'Praise be to Allah who has saved us from the harmdoing nation' 28 And say, 'My Lord, let me land at a blessed landing place, and You are the best to accommodate [us].' " 29 Surely in that are signs, and surely We put to the test. 30 Thereafter, after them, We produced another generation, 31 Then We sent to them an apostle from among them (who said): "Worship God, for you have no other god but He. Will you not take heed and fear God?" 32
