۞ AND [there came a time when] We inspired Moses thus: "Go forth with My servants by night: for, behold, you will be pursued!" 52 Then Pharaoh sent gatherers to the cities. 53 (Proclaiming): "Surely they are a small band (of fugitives). 54 And verily they have enraged us. 55 seeing that we are, verily, a nation united, fully prepared against danger 56 Then We drave them forth from gardens and springs. 57 And treasures and goodly dwellings, 58 As such we gave it to the Children of Israel. 59 At sunrise they set off in pursuit of them 60 And when the two bodies saw each other, the people of Moses said: "We are sure to be overtaken." 61 Moses said: "Certainly not. My Lord is with me; He will direct me." 62 Then We inspired Moses, saying: Smite the sea with thy staff. And it parted, and each part was as a mountain vast. 63 Then We brought near the others [Fir'aun's (Pharaoh) party] to that place. 64 And We saved Moses and those with him, every one; 65 and then We caused the others to drown. 66 Lo! herein is indeed a portent, yet most of them are not believers. 67 Verily your Lord is Immensely Mighty, Ever Compassionate. 68
