And recite to them the tiding of Abraham 69 when he asked his father and his people: "What do you worship?" 70 They said, "We worship idols and remain to them devoted." 71 Said he: "Do [you really think that] they hear you when you invoke them, 72 Do they help or harm you?" 73 They said: nay; but we found our fathers doing in this wise. 74 He said: See now that which ye worship, 75 you and those ancient forebears of yours? 76 they are all my enemies, not so the Lord of the Universe, 77 He created me and He will guide me. 78 He who gives me food and drink; 79 And heals me when I am sick, 80 Who will cause me to die and then will again restore me to life; 81 "And who, I hope, will forgive me my faults on the day of Judgment. 82 Lord, grant me authority. Join me to the righteous ones. 83 And ordain for me a goodly mention among posterity 84 and make me one of the inheritors of the Garden of Bliss; 85 “And forgive my father* he is indeed astray.” (His paternal uncle) 86 Do not betray me 87 The day on which property will not avail, nor sons 88 except him who comes before Allah with a pure heart; 89 On the Day of Judgment Paradise will be brought near the pious 90 "And to those straying in Evil, the Fire will be placed in full view; 91 It shall be said to them, 'Where is that you were serving 92 instead of God? Can these [things and beings] be of any help to you or to themselves?" 93 Then will they be hurled therein, they and the seducers 94 And the hosts of Iblis all together. 95 They will say while contending therein, 96 “By oath of Allah, we were indeed in open error.” 97 When we made you equal to the Lord of the worlds; 98 Only the sinful ones made us go astray. 99 Now we have no intercessors, 100 “Nor a caring friend.” 101 Then if we only had a return [to the world] and could be of the believers... " 102 Verily herein is a sign, but most of them are not believers. 103 Surely thy Lord, He is the All-mighty, the All-compassionate. 104

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
