۞ Gather together those who were unjust and their associates, and what they used to worship 22 other than Allah, and guide them to the Path of Hell! 23 And halt them, to be questioned: 24 "'What is the matter with you that ye help not each other?'" 25 Nay! on that day they shall be submissive. 26 And they will approach one another blaming each other. 27 "It was you who tried to mislead us from righteousness". 28 They will reply: "Nay, ye yourselves had no Faith! 29 We had no authority over you, in fact, you were a rebellious people. 30 "So now has been proved true, against us, the word of our Lord that we shall indeed (have to) taste (the punishment of our sins). 31 we perverted you, indeed, we were perverts' 32 Then verily, that Day, they will (all) share in the torment. 33 This is how We deal with the criminals. 34 Indeed they, when it was said to them, "There is no deity but Allah," were arrogant 35 and said, "Should we give up our idols for the sake of an insane poet". 36 In fact, he had brought them the truth and had acknowledged the Messengers (who were sent before him). 37 you shall surely taste the painful punishment, 38 And you shall not be rewarded except (for) what you did. 39 But Allah's chosen servants (shall be spared this woeful end). 40 there is waiting for them a known provision; 41 fruits -- and they high-honoured 42 (They will live) in the bountiful gardens, 43 sitting face to face upon couches, 44 With cups from a flowing stream being passed around, 45 white, a delight to the drinkers, 46 Free from headiness; nor will they suffer intoxication therefrom. 47 And with them are those of modest gaze, with lovely eyes, 48 As if they were (delicate) eggs closely guarded. 49 They advance one upon another, asking each other questions. 50 Said one of the speakers: "I had a friend 51 Who would say, 'Are you indeed of those who believe 52 When we are dead and turned to dust and bones, shall we be recompensed?" 53 He saith: Will ye look? 54 Then he looked down and saw him in the midst of hell. 55 He saith: By Allah, thou verily didst all but cause my ruin, 56 And had it not been for the favour of my Lord, I too had been of those haled forth (to doom). 57 But then, [O my friends in paradise,] is it [really] so that we are not to die 58 except our first death, and shall we not be punished' 59 Indeed, this is the mighty victory, 60 For the like of this let the workers work. 61 Is this a better hospitality or the tree of AzZakkum! 62 Surely We have made it to be a trial to the unjust. 63 For it is a tree that springs out of the bottom of Hellfire: 64 Its spathes are like the prickly pear. 65 and they eat of it, and of it fill their bellies, 66 Then most surely they shall have after it to drink of a mixture prepared in boiling water. 67 Then thereafter, verily, their return is to the flaming fire of Hell. 68 Verily, they found their fathers on the wrong path; 69 But they make haste (to follow) in their footsteps. 70 And indeed before them, most of the former people went astray. 71 And assuredly We sent among them warners. 72 Therefore see what sort of fate befell those who were warned! 73 Save single-minded slaves of Allah. 74
