Now, behold, this [divine writ] has indeed been bestowed from on high by the Sustainer of all the worlds: 192 Which the trustworthy Ruh [Jibrael (Gabriel)] has brought down; 193 to your heart that you might become one of those who warn (others on behalf of Allah), 194 (a revelation) in clear Arabic language, 195 And lo! it is in the Scriptures of the men of old. 196 Is it not a sign unto them that the learned among the Children of Isra'il know it? 197 If We had sent it down on a barbarian 198 and had he recited it unto them [in his own tongue,] they would not have believed in it. 199 Thus have We caused it (the denial of the Quran) to enter the hearts of the Mujrimun (criminals, polytheists, sinners, etc.). 200 They will not believe in it until they see the painful torment; 201 And it shall come to them all of a sudden, while they shall not perceive; 202 Then they will say: "Can we be respited?" 203 Do they really want Our chastisement to be expedited? 204 Did you consider that if We were to let them enjoy life for many years 205 And afterwards comes to them that (punishment) which they had been promised! 206 So of what benefit will be the comforts that they were using? 207 And We destroyed not a city but it had its warners. 208 For reminder, for We never were oppressors. 209 It was not the satans who brought it down: 210 It is not meet for them, nor is it in their power, 211 Verily, they have been removed far from hearing it. 212 So call not thou unto another god along with Allah, lest thou be of the doomed. 213 And warn your near relations, 214 And spread your wing of mercy for the believers following you. 215 If they disobey you, tell them, "I condemn your disobedient deeds". 216 And put thy trust in the Mighty, the Merciful. 217 Who seeth thee when thou standest up (to pray) 218 And your movements among those who fall prostrate (along with you to Allah in the five compulsory congregational prayers). 219 Surely He is the All-hearing, the All-knowing. 220 Shall I inform you, (O people!), on whom it is that the evil ones descend? 221 They descend on every lying sinner, 222 The satans try to listen to the heavens but many of them are liars. 223 And as to the poets, those who go astray follow them. 224 Have you not seen how they wander in every valley, 225 And they say what they do not do, 226 except those who believed and acted righteously and remembered Allah much, and when they themselves were subjected to wrong, they exacted retribution no more than to the extent of the wrong? Soon will the wrong-doers know the end that they shall reach. 227

(1) وقف لازم، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي نقطة وقف. (2) وقف جائز مع الوقف أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلثين. When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
