The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the angels who violently tear-out the souls of the disbelievers from their bodies, 1 By the meteors rushing, 2 by the angels who float (in the heavens by the will of God), 3 by those that outstrip them suddenly, 4 and by those who regulate events. 5 On the day when the first trump resoundeth. 6 And the second followeth it, 7 On that day hearts beat painfully 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 (Now) they are saying: Shall we really be restored to our first state 10 Even after we are crumbled bones? 11 They say: that then shall be a losing return. 12 So that is not but a single shout. 13 When, behold, they will be in the (full) awakening (to Judgment). 14 Has the story of Moses reached thee? 15 Recall what time his Lord called unto him in the holy vale of Tuwa. 16 "Go unto Pharaoh - for, verily, he has transgressed all bounds of what is right 17 and say, 'Will you reform yourself? 18 And that I guide you to your Lord, so you should fear Him? 19 And he showed him the greatest sign, 20 but he belied and disobeyed, 21 He then turned away, striving in his effort. 22 And he gathered [his people] and called out 23 And said, "I am your most exalted lord." 24 So Allah seized him in exemplary punishment for the last and the first [transgression]. 25 Verily herein is lesson for him who feareth. 26
