The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
Read (Prophet Muhammad) in the Name of your Lord who created, 1 Created man from a clot. 2 Recite thou: And thy Lord is the Most Bounteous, 3 Who hath taught mankind by the pen 4 Hath taught man that which he knew not. 5 Yes indeed, man is surely rebellious. 6 Because he considers himself self-sufficient. 7 for, behold, unto thy Sustainer all must return. 8 What thinkest thou? He who forbids 9 A votary when he (turns) to pray? 10 Have you considered if he were on the right way, 11 Or enjoined guarding (against evil)? 12 Have you seen if he denies and turns away - 13 Does he not know that Allah sees? 14 No indeed; if he does not desist, We shall drag him by the forelock; 15 The lying, sinful forelock - 16 Then, let him call upon his council (of helpers), 17 We shall call on the guards of Hell. 18 Beware! Do not obey him, but bow in adoration and draw near (to your Lord). ۩ 19
