Al-Mu' minoon 4 of 6
O Ye apostles! eat the good things and work righteously; verily of that which ye work I am the Knower. 51 And verily, this community of yours is one single community, since I am the Sustainer of you all: remain, then, conscious of Me! 52 But people later cut up their religion into bits, each group rejoicing in what they have. 53 So leave them in their intoxication till a time. 54 Do they fancy that Our continuing to give them wealth and children (means) that 55 We are busy lavishing on them all kinds of good? Nay, they do not perceive the reality of the matter. 56 Only those who are, out of fear of Him, humble before their Lord, 57 who believe in the verses of their Lord; 58 Who do not associate any one with their Lord, 59 and who give whatever they [have to] give with their hearts trembling at the thought that unto their Sustainer they must return: 60 it is they who vie with one another in doing good works and shall be the foremost in doing so. 61 We charge no soul with more than it can bear. We have a record which clearly shows the truth and they will not be wronged. 62 Nay, their hearts are lost in ignorance of all this; and their deeds too vary from the way (mentioned above). They will persist in these deeds 63 until We seize with Our chastisement those of them that are given to luxuriant ways. They will then begin to groan. 64 We shall tell them, "Do not cry for help on this day; you will receive none from Us". 65 Our revelations had certainly been recited to you, but you turned your backs to them 66 [and,] impelled by your arrogance, you would talk senselessly far into the night." 67 Then have they not reflected over the Qur'an, or has there come to them that which had not come to their forefathers? 68 Or, is it because they do not recognize their Messenger that they denied him? 69 Or they say, “He is afflicted by a demon”; in fact he brought the Truth to them, and most of them dislike the Truth. 70 But if the truth were in accord with their own likes and dislikes, the heavens and the earth would surely have fallen into ruin, and all that lives in them [would long ago have perished]! Nay, [in this divine writ] We have conveyed unto them all that they ought to bear in mind: and from this their reminder they [heedlessly] turn away! 71 (Do they disbelieve because) you asked them for payment? The reward that you will receive from your Lord is the best. He is the best Provider. 72 And verily thou! thou callest them unto a Path straight. 73 But those who believe not in the Hereafter turn away from the straight path. 74 ۞ And though We have mercy on them We may remove whatsoever of hurt is with them, surely they would persist in their exorbitance, wandering perplexed. 75 And indeed, We tested them through suffering, but they did not abase themselves before their Sustainer; and they will never humble themselves 76 To the extent that when We opened the gate of a severe punishment for them, they thereupon lie despairingly in it. 77

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
