[AND] the people of Lot gave the lie to [one of God's] message-bearers 160 when their brother Lot said unto them: "Will you not be conscious of God? 161 I am for you a faithful Messenger, 162 So keep your duty to Allah and obey me. 163 "No reward do I ask of you for it: my reward is only from the lord of the Worlds. 164 "Go you in unto the males of the 'Alamin (mankind), 165 And leave what your Lord has created for you as mates? But you are a people transgressing." 166 They said, “O Lut, if you do not desist, you will be expelled.” 167 He said, "I certainly hate what you practice. 168 (And prayed:) "O Lord, save me and my family from what they do." 169 So We saved him and his whole family 170 except an old woman who was among those that stayed behind. 171 We then destroyed the others. 172 And We rained on them a rain. And dreadful is the rain of those who have been warned. 173 Verily herein is a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 174 your Lord is the Mighty One, the Merciful. 175
