Nay, by the Moon 32 And [by] the night when it departs 33 And [by] the morning when it brightens, 34 Surely, it is one of the gravest things, 35 a warning to mortal man 36 to whoever of you desires to go forward or lag behind. 37 Each soul is held in pledge for what it earns, 38 save the People of the Right Hand 39 In Gardens they will question 40 concerning the sinners, 41 "What has brought you into hell-fire?" 42 They shall say, 'We were not of those who prayed, and 43 “Nor used to feed the needy.” 44 We used to wade (in vain dispute) with (all) waders, 45 And we used to deny the Day of Judgment, 46 till the certainty (death) overtook us' 47 So there will not benefit them the intercession of [any] intercessors. 48 What aileth them, therefore, that they are from the admonition turning away? 49 As if they were startled donkeys – 50 That had fled from a lion? 51 Forsooth, each one of them wants to be given scrolls (of revelation) spread out! 52 No indeed; but they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 By no means! Verily this Qur'an is an admonition. 54 So, whoever wills, will remember it. 55 No one will seek guidance unless God wills it. He alone is worthy of being feared and He is the Source of Forgiveness. 56
