The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
When the sun (with its spacious light) is folded up; 1 the stars are made to fade away, 2 the mountains are scattered about as dust, 3 And when the camels big with young are abandoned, 4 And when the wild beasts are herded together, 5 When the oceans boil over with a swell; 6 and when all human beings are coupled [with their deeds,] 7 when the buried female infant is asked 8 For what crime she was put to death; 9 And when the pages are laid open, 10 and when heaven is laid bare, 11 when Hell shall be set blazing, 12 when Paradise is brought near, 13 (Then) every person will know what he has brought (of good and evil). 14 So I swear by the retreating stars - 15 The stars which rise and set, 16 by the night swarming, 17 The rising dawn, 18 This is indeed the recitation of an honoured Noble Messenger. (Angel Jibreel – peace and blessings be upon him.) 19 [Who is] possessed of power and with the Owner of the Throne, secure [in position], 20 Obeyed (by the angels), trustworthy there (in the heavens). 21 And your companion is not gone mad. 22 he truly saw him on the clear horizon; 23 And he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) withholds not a knowledge of the unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of an evil spirit accursed. 25 Then where are you going? 26 It is naught but a reminder for the nations, 27 So let those who want, choose the right guidance 28 but you shall not, unless Allah wills, the Lord of all the Worlds. 29
