Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Has not there come to you the news of the overwhelming calamity? 1 Faces on that day humbled, 2 be toiling and worn-out; 3 (Yet) Going into the blazing fire. 4 Made to drink water from the boiling hot spring. 5 They shall have no food except bitter dry thorns 6 Which will neither nourish nor satisfy hunger. 7 In that day other faces will be calm, 8 Glad with their endeavour (for their good deeds which they did in this world, along with the true Faith of Islamic Monotheism). 9 In a high Garden 10 hearing there no babble; 11 A gushing fountain shall be there 12 and couches raised high, 13 and goblets placed ready, 14 And cushions set in rows, 15 And rich carpets (all) spread out. 16 Will they not then consider the camels, how they are created? 17 And at the sky, how it is raised aloft? 18 And the mountains – how they have been established? 19 And the earth, how it was spread out? 20 Therefore do remind, for you are only a reminder. 21 You are not a watcher over them; 22 However, he who turns away and disbelieves - 23 In which case he will be punished by God with the severest punishment. 24 To Us they will all return. 25 Then surely upon Us is the taking of their account. 26
