The Stars (Al-Najm)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the star when it plunges, 1 your comrade is not astray, neither errs, 2 He does not speak out of his own desires. 3 Indeed it is not except a Revelation which is revealed, 4 One of mighty powers hath taught it him. 5 by the great mighty one (Gabriel), 6 While he was in the higher [part of the] horizon. 7 then he drew near, and became close 8 until he was but two bow-lengths away, or even nearer. 9 And He revealed unto His slave that which He revealed. 10 The heart did not lie [about] what it saw. 11 what, will you dispute with him what he sees? 12 For indeed he saw him at a second descent, 13 At the Lote Tree of the Utmost Boundary - 14 by the Garden of [Eternal] Repose, 15 when the lote tree was covered in mystic splendour. 16 (Muhammad's) eyes did not deceive him, nor did they lead him to falsehood. 17 Indeed he (Muhammad SAW) did see, of the Greatest Signs, of his Lord (Allah). 18 Have ye seen Lat. and 'Uzza, 19 and about the third deity, al-Manat? 20 What, have you males, and He females! 21 This is certainly an unjust apportioning. 22 these are nothing but names which you yourselves have devised, you and your forefathers. God has sent down no authority for them. They follow nothing but conjecture and what their own selves desire, even though guidance has already come to them from their Lord! 23 Shall man have whatsoever he wisheth for! 24 Allah's is the last and the first. 25
