The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ WHEN THE SKY is cleft asunder, 1 And has responded to its Lord and was obligated [to do so] 2 And when the earth is spread out. 3 And has cast out that within it and relinquished [it] 4 And attentive to her Lord in fear! 5 O mankind, indeed you are laboring toward your Lord with [great] exertion and will meet it. 6 So whoever is given his record of deeds in his right hand – 7 He truly will receive an easy reckoning 8 and he will return to his family joyfully. 9 But as for those whose Book of records will be given behind their backs, 10 Soon he will pray for death. 11 And he shall roast into a Blaze. 12 He lived rejoicing among his people, 13 thinking he would never revert (to Us). 14 Yea! his Lord had ever been beholding him. 15 So I swear by the twilight glow 16 And by the night and whatever it gathers in its darkness; 17 or by the moon when it is full, 18 That ye shall journey on from plane to plane. 19 So, what is the matter with them that they do not believe, 20 And when the Qur'an is recited to them do not bow in adoration? ۩ 21 In fact the disbelievers keep denying. 22 and Allah knows very well what they gather. 23 So give them tidings of a painful doom, 24 except for those who believe and do good deeds. Theirs shall be an unending reward. 25
