And We sent Saleh to the tribe of Thamud, from their own community; he said, “O my people! Worship Allah – you do not have any God except Him; indeed a clear proof has come to you from your Lord; this is Allah’s she-camel – a sign for you – so leave her free to feed in Allah’s earth, and do not touch her with evil intentions for a painful punishment will seize you.” 73 "And remember when He made you successors after 'Ad (people) and gave you habitations in the land, you build for yourselves palaces in plains, and carve out homes in the mountains. So remember the graces (bestowed upon you) from Allah, and do not go about making mischief on the earth." 74 but the arrogant leaders of his people said to the believers who were deemed weak, "Do you know for certain that Salih is one sent from his Lord?" They replied, "We believe in the message which has been sent through him." 75 The Arrogant party said: "For our part, we reject what ye believe in." 76 So they slew the she-camel and revolted against their Lord's commandment, and they said: O Salih! bring us what you threatened us with, if you are one of the apostles. 77 Thereupon an earthquake overtook them: and then they lay lifeless, in their very homes, on the ground. 78 Then he turned away from them and said: O my people I did certainly deliver to you the message of my Lord, and I gave you good advice, but you do not love those who give good advice. 79 And Lot! (Remember) when he said unto his folk: Will ye commit abomination such as no creature ever did before you? 80 "Verily, you practise your lusts on men instead of women. Nay, but you are a people transgressing beyond bounds (by committing great sins)." 81 And the answer of his people was only that they said (one to another): Turn them out of your township. They are folk, forsooth, who keep pure. 82 Then We delivered Lot and his household save his wife who stayed behind, 83 and We rained down upon them a rain. So look how was the end of the evildoers. 84
