1/2 Hizb 45
< random >
۞ (It will be said to the angels): "Assemble those who did wrong, together with their companions (from the devils) and what they used to worship. 22 "Besides Allah, and lead them to the Way to the (Fierce) Fire! 23 And detain them, for they will be questioned." 24 What is the matter with you that you do not help each other? 25 indeed, on that Day they will surrender themselves. 26 and advance one upon another, asking each other questions. 27 They shall say: Surely you used to come to us from the right side. 28 But they reply: 'Rather, you were not believers. 29 Moreover, we had no power at all over you: nay, you were people filled with overweening arrogance! 30 and so we became deserving of the Word of our Lord that we shall be made to suffer chastisement. 31 For we had led you astray. In fact we ourselves were astray." 32 So they shall on that day be sharers in the chastisement one with another. 33 Indeed, that is how We deal with the criminals. 34 When they were told, "There is no deity but God," they turned away with disdain, 35 And said: "Should we abandon our gods for the sake of an insane poet?" 36 Nay: he has come with the truth and verified the apostles. 37 Verily ye are going to taste a torment afflictive. 38 but you shall not be recompensed except for what you were doing. 39 Save single-minded slaves of Allah; 40 For them is a known sustenance, 41 Fruits; and they will be honored 42 In the Gardens of delight (Paradise), 43 Facing each other on Thrones (of Dignity): 44 A bowl shall be made to go round them from water running out of springs, 45 White, a pleasure unto the drinkers. 46 There shall be no trouble in it, nor shall they be exhausted therewith. 47 Theirs shall be wide-eyed maidens with bashful, restrained glances, 48 As if they were [delicate] eggs, well-protected. 49 And they will all turn to one another, asking each other [about their past lives]. 50 A speaker among them will say, "Indeed, I had a companion [on earth] 51 Who used to say: "Are you among those who believe (in resurrection after death). 52 When we are dead and turned to dust and bones, shall we be recompensed?" 53 He will say: -- Do you wish to know where he is now?' 54 So he looked down and saw him in the midst of the Fire. 55 He will say, "By God! You almost brought me to ruin! 56 If not for the favor of my Lord, I would have been of those brought in [to Hell]. 57 Are we then not to die 58 "Except our first death, and we shall not be punished? (after we have entered Paradise)." 59 “This is, most certainly, the supreme success.” 60 For the like of this then let the workers work. 61 Is this a better hospitality or the tree of AzZakkum! 62 Lo! We have appointed it a torment for wrong-doers. 63 (Zaqqum) is a tree which grows from the deepest part of hell, 64 The shoots of its fruit-stalks are like the heads of devils: 65 And indeed, they will eat from it and fill with it their bellies. 66 Then most surely they shall have after it to drink of a mixture prepared in boiling water. 67 And thereafter verily their return is unto the Flaming Fire. 68 Verily they found their fathers gone astray. 69 So they (too) were rushed down on their footsteps! 70 And certainly most of the ancients went astray before them, 71 We had certainly sent warners to them. 72 See how terrible was the end of those who were warned. 73 EXCEPT for God's true servants, [most people are apt to go astray.] 74
