Nay, and by the moon, 32 And the night when it withdraweth 33 And by oath of the morning, when it spreads light. 34 hell is certainly the greatest calamity. 35 A warning unto humankind 36 a warning to everyone of you whether he would like to come forward or lag behind. 37 [On the Day of Judgment,] every human being will be held in pledge for whatever [evil] he has wrought 38 Except the companions of the right, 39 In Gardens; they shall be asking, 40 About the criminals, 41 What hath brought you to this burning? 42 They will answer: "We were not among those who prayed; 43 "Nor were we of those who fed the indigent; 44 "But we used to talk vanities with vain talkers; 45 and the Day of Judgment we were wont to call a lie 46 until the Inevitable End [death] overtook us." 47 Then there will not profit them intercesion of the interceders. 48 What is the matter with people that they are turning away from this Exhortation, 49 As if they were alarmed donkeys 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 In fact every one of them wants to be given open books (like the prophets). 52 No! They do not fear the Hereafter -- 53 Nay, this surely is an admonition: 54 So whosoever willeth may heed it. 55 And they will not receive admonition unless Allah wills; He (Allah) is the One, deserving that mankind should be afraid of, and should be dutiful to Him, and should not take any Ilah (God) along with Him, and He is the One Who forgives (sins). 56
