Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
Has the story reached thee of the overwhelming (Event)? 1 Some faces will on that Day be downcast, 2 be toiling and worn-out; 3 They shall roast into the scalding Fire, 4 They will be given to drink from a boiling spring, 5 For them there will be no food except from a poisonous, thorny plant 6 Which neither give strength nor satisfy the hunger. 7 Faces on that Day shall be delighted, 8 With their endeavour well pleased. 9 In a high Garden 10 Wherein they will hear no unsuitable speech. 11 Therein will be a bubbling spring: 12 raised couches, 13 and goblets placed ready, 14 and cushions arrayed in rows, 15 And linen spread out. 16 Do they not look at the camels, how they are created? 17 And the sky: how it was raised high? 18 And at the Mountains, how they are fixed firm?- 19 And the earth: how it was spread out? 20 Remind them, for thou art but a remembrancer, 21 You are not a watcher over them; 22 Except whoever turns away and disbelieves 23 In which case he will be punished by God with the severest punishment. 24 Indeed, to Us is their return. 25 Ours is surely then to reckon with them. 26
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
