(Muhammad) say, "I am only a warner. The only Lord is God, the Almighty. 65 “Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them – the Almighty, the Oft Forgiving.” 66 Say: "This is a message tremendous: 67 (And) you are turning aside from it: 68 I have no knowledge of the dispute among the angels (concerning their attitude towards Adam). 69 “I receive only the divine revelations, that I am purely a clear Herald of Warning.” 70 When your Lord told the angels, "I will create a mortal out of clay, 71 When I have shaped him, and breathed My spirit in him, fall you down, bowing before him!' 72 So all the angels prostrated themselves 73 Except Iblees; he was arrogant and became among the disbelievers. 74 [Allah] said, "O Iblees, what prevented you from prostrating to that which I created with My hands? Were you arrogant [then], or were you [already] among the haughty?" 75 Satan replied, "I am better than him. You created me from fire, but You created him from clay." 76 He said: “Get out of here; surely you are accursed, 77 and My rejection shall be thy due until the Day of Judgment!" 78 He said: My Lord! then respite me to the day that they are raised. 79 (Allah) said: "Verily! You are of those allowed respite 80 till the Appointed Day." 81 [Iblis (Satan)] said: "By Your Might, then I will surely mislead them all, 82 “Except Your chosen bondmen among them.” 83 [Allah] said, "The truth [is My oath], and the truth I say - 84 That I shall fill Hell with thee and such of them as shall follow thee, all together. 85 Say: "No reward do I ask of you for this (Qur'an), nor am I a pretender. 86 Lo! it is naught else than a reminder for all peoples 87 And most certainly you will come to know about it after a time. 88
